Il profilo trilobato è indicato per applicazioni a medio scorrimento, i profili scanalati per alberi corti ed a notevole scorrimento. Il profilo York per alte prestazioni.

Deve essere corredata di manuale e deve essere presente la marchiatura sulla protezione stessa.

The driveshadft must have the operator’s manual and must be marked with CE embossing.

If the telescopic tubes are excessively subject to strain, this is due to execessive torque or to too small size of the driveshaft. This problem can be fixed by protecting the driveshaft through safety device or by choosing a bigger size of driveshaft.

It is recommended for uses with peaks between 15° and 30°; it allows to work with these peaks in continuously activity.

The driveshadft must have the operator’s manual and must be marked with CE embossing.

You just need to consider the maximum profiles’ overlap in the hardest work conditions.

The crosses, tubes and protection neck must be properly lubricated.

When the characteristics of the machine can lead to a sudden locking

When the machine must be protected against dangerous peaks and when the PTO, at the moment of interruption,  has so much energy that could be dangerous to suddenly stop the power transmission.

LDR automatic torque limiter intervenes when the nominal torque is achieved: in fact the machine gearbox is set neutral and then automatically restarted.

It allows an high torque transmission and its particular shape has a specific anti-locking property. 

Rilsan coating is a anti-locking treatment; Tempra coating mixes up anti-locking and anti-wearing properties. 

Torque limiter FD makes the machine working by annulling dangerous peaks. Bolt torque limiter LC intervenes when the torque is achieved through a safety bolt. Pawl toque limiter LN acts just like a FD toque limited and it is more recommended for specific applications such as hay harvest.

The triangular profile is recommended for applications with medium slippage; the splined profile for short driveshaft with high slippage. York profile is for  applications with high performance.

If safety plugs are excessively subject to wearing, this is due to lacking or insufficient lubrication. This problem can be fixed by following the maintenance instructions provided by the manufacturer.

If the pins of the cross are excessively subject to wearing and /or they got broken, this is due to an excessive spindle angle. This problem can be fixed by reducing the spindle angle or by increasing the size of the driveshaft.

If the telescopic tubes are excessively subject to wearing, this is due to lacking or insufficient lubrication. This problem can be fixed by following the maintenance instructions provided by the manufacturer; if this is not enough, maybe tempered or rilsan tubes are required.

If the telescopic tubes are subject to seizing, this is due to lacking or insufficient lubrication. This problem can be fixed by following the maintenance instructions provided by the manufacturer; if this is not enough, maybe tempered tubes are required.  

If the telescopic tubes are excessively subject to strain, this is due to execessive torque or to too small size of the driveshaft. This problem can be fixed by protecting the driveshaft through safety device or by choosing a bigger size of driveshaft.

If the yoke-arms are excessively subject to wearing and /or strain, this is due to excessive torques. This problem can be fixed through a safety device.

Make sure to install the driveshaft with his image printed on the tube protection on the tractor side.
Make sure that the PTO’s hitches are safely linked to the tractor and to the machine.   
Fix the anti-rotation chains of the driveshaft on the fixed points of the tractor and of the machine and make sure that they do not block the transmission and they do not keep in contact with parts in motion.

Make sure that the protections on the tractor side and on the machine side are safely set and they are matching with the protections on the transmission. If some parts get damaged, it is necessary to replace them.
It is forbidden to use the driveshaft without the anti-rotation chains and they must be safely hooked to the driveshaft, both on the tractor’s and machine’s side.

Lengths
make sure that the maximum and minimum length (Lmax) are matching with the required lengths and the minimum matching of the tubes is not lower than 1/3 of their free length. 

Maximum spindle angles
Work at spindle angles α1 e α2 equal and restrained. Disconnect the PTO when moving at angles wider than 35°.

Maximum spindle angles for homocinetik driveshaft 80°
Work at spindle angles α1 up to 50° for continuative working sessions, for example for steering angle. 
Do not use the driveshaft as support or as footboard.

Do not use the anti-rotation chain to support or carry the driveshaft when not hitched to the tractor. Use the standard support on the machine.


Inactivity period


In the case of long periods of inactivity, clean and grease the driveshaft and place it away from the atmospheric agents. When re-using it, lubricate and check the efficiency of the different parts.

There are several special greases for drive shafts: EUROCARDAN recommends a specific one, available at our main distributors.

The crosses, tubes and protection neck must be properly lubricated.
